Our anniversary not only marked 4 years since our wedding, it also marked exactly 20 weeks in our pregnancy. The halfway point! We got a little early anniversary gift and found out that we're having a boy! This is from his 19 week ultrasound. We also have an 11 week ultrasound in which he looks like a tiny, little peanut, but a very cute peanut.
Our 4th Anniversary
Posted by Rachael at Thursday, November 05, 2009 | Labels: family Thursday, November 5, 2009Isaac surprised me with these (along with some other beautiful gifts), there was one more, but I'd already eaten it.
This was my favorite looking one-
Our Temple, Palmyra-
I found these on a church website. This first picture is the sealing room that we were married in-

And this is the Celestial Room. After we were married, they let us come in here and have some quiet time to reflect on our sealing. It was so peaceful. I am so grateful that we were married in the temple. And I know how important it is to return often to reflect on the covenants that we made there.
About a month ago, it was the end of a very long week of work and finally having a weekend off, I awoke from my occasional after work nap to find my husband bringing these to me. No reason, he just felt like it.
Isaac borrowed a camera lens from a friend at work, which he has had a lot of fun trying out. And with that, I found quite a few random pictures uploaded to the computer. This must be what Isaac sees when he's in our home.
Fence Sitters and Other Little Critters...
Posted by Rachael at Saturday, October 17, 2009 | Saturday, October 17, 2009We took a lovely, long canoe ride through Ellison Park back in August. We worked quite hard to get through the entire length of the park. Though it was a long and tough trip at times, it was well worth the effort for the beauty that we were able to see.
This is about the shallow point where we had to get out and pull the canoe-
This funny little bug came and perched atop my father's hat and stayed for quite some time-
We went so far into the park that we passed right on by the back side of the Daisy Flour Mill where Isaac and I had our wedding reception 4 years ago (and David and Trisha had theirs before that).
Our goal was to see if we could make it to the Daisy Flour Mill, but we actually made it quite a ways further, past that. We went on for some time, but when we ran into this tough water, we found that we were pretty tired out and just couldn't get our little boat up this rapid area of the stream. So we finally turned around. It was much easier on the way back going with the current, making it very relaxing. It started to sprinkle on us right at the end, which added some beautiful mist to the air. This is such a beautiful area, we just love where we live!
This silver plant is quite peculiar. First, it was not supposed to grow back this year, but it did. Then it grew gigantic. And one day we noticed it had sprouted up one vine way into the air. That was strange on it's own, but then pop... out came this yellow flower. I have no idea what that is about, none of the others did this. And no one else has had theirs do this. Very strange indeed.
- Isaac loves bunnies and would take one home, but we don't need more animals to clean up after.
- You're probably not supposed to open the cages, but the bunnies are too soft and too cute to resist.
- Usually all the goats want to chew off your buttons, but on this day, they didn't care about us at all.
- There is a toad somewhere in the picture with the turtle.

Posted by Rachael at Thursday, October 01, 2009 | Labels: Rochester Thursday, October 1, 2009Sometime over the summer, I can't remember when (my job has made time all blend together), Isabelle got very sick. You can see it especially in that sad face above. I made Isaac take these pictures because I was positive she wasn't going to make it through the night. Then I spent most of the night up with her (even though I had to wake before the crack of dawn to head back to work, I was very tired). I was all set to send her lovingly on her way.
However, she's still here and going. How? I have no idea. I'm about ready to send her on her way though if she doesn't go soon. She is better, but she's never been 100% since we took her over 2 years ago now. And I'm about done. She gets pretty darn sick every couple of months or so and I'm sure it's her time, but she always bounces back! I need to find elderly cat daycare for her. I have cat-care-giver burnout and I'm ready for placement! Why don't they have such a thing for old cats?! We do it all the time with people.

Isaac and I found a new park off of the Erie Canal path. This place was made into a park only about 2 years ago and you can only get to it from the canal path or behind the Jewish home off Winton, it's well hidden. They have a path through woods and then a boardwalk out into a field with bird houses scattered here and there. It's right around the corner from our house, so I couldn't believe we'd never known about it before. It was a cute little place with nobody there!
